Of Selections To Select From
From the larger collection of songs written somewhere between curiosity and trouble and then some
And just like that, a fun blues
🎶 “Boom Baby Boom” is upbeat, flirtatious, and driven by that rush of early attraction about getting blindsided by irresistible attraction — that moment when someone walks in, turns your world upside down, and suddenly you’re falling into love you never planned on.
The writing's on the wall!
💔 Staying Even When It Hurts Despite the constant conflict and the growing sense that nothing works, he keeps staying. Loyalty, habit, or emotional gravity — whatever it is, it keeps pulling him back even when logic says to walk away.
One for my Mrs. Marjory
💞 A Love That Feels Like “Something Else” The final verse acknowledges that what they share is rare — something beyond ordinary love. The narrator would do anything to keep it, because it’s clear, undeniable, and alive in the way they see each other.
A sideways look at belief and contradiction.
🔥 The Central Idea: Everything Offends Someone The chorus lays out the thesis — no matter what you do, someone will claim you’ve crossed a line. “Everything is sacred from somebody’s point of view” becomes both a truth and a punchline. It’s sharp, funny, and painfully accurate.
Found some time alone
Wasn't sure yet what I'd do
She walks into the room
Looks at you know who
The Next thing that I knew
Boom Baby Boom
I tried to get away
Her moves said stay stay stay
You may as well assume
It was all that I could do
The next thing that I knew
Boom Baby Boom
Never meant to fall in love
you know these words are true
Then my baby said
You better come back to bed
The next thing that I knew
Boom Baby Boom
Boom Baby Boom
Boom Baby Boom
Boom Baby Boom
Boom Baby Boom

I never wanted trouble
but whenever you're around
we scream and shout
jump about there's something going down
It makes me wonder
Just why you're Mean to me
I know it must seem crazy you're the
You're the one I have to see
We first got together
it was like a game of chess
I thought I'd won
I'd been outdone, my life is such a mess
I can't take it
There's little left to say
I know it must seem crazy but I
I still have to stay
Ok you may be pretty
but you have your share of quirks
The years go by
Yet still we try and nothing really works
I see the writing
It's on every wall in town
I know it must seem crazy but I
I can't let you down
Life has it's roads
yes I took mine too
The first day the fast way
I'd finally left you
Now I feel empty
I'm pale just like a ghost
I know it must seem crazy you're the
the one I miss the most

Walkin' home it was gettin' late so I took a different route
A man walked up to me and said you're a sinner there's no doubt
I'm sure it's true but what'd I do to deserve him in my face
He said I walked on sacred ground and I should pay for that disgrace
Everything is sacred from somebody's point of view
You're bound to piss somebody off no matter what you do
I crossed that line this evening just by walkin' on some land
I know I should be leaving and I think I understand
Everything is sacred from somebody's point of view
You're bound to piss somebody off no matter what you do
I went out for a morning meal I was hungry for some meat
A man walked up to me and said it was wrong for me to eat
I suppose it's true but what'd I do to deserve him in my face
He said that I ate sacred food and I should pay for my disgrace
Everything is sacred from somebody's point of view
You're bound to piss somebody off no matter what you do
I crossed that line this morning just by eating steak and eggs
Now I get a warning someone want's to break my legs
Everything is sacred from somebody's point of view
When you've gone and pissed somebody off who knows what they will do
They sit in their sacred armchair and worship their TV
They're making plans to crucify those who disagree
They grab their sacred telephone and call up all their friends
Plan a small atrocity as a means to make amends
I don't know what he thought I said but it must have came out wrong
A man walked up to me and said you know I really hate your song
I'm sure it's true but what'd I do to deserve him in my face
He said I broke a sacred rule and I should pay that disgrace
Everything is sacred from somebody's point of view
You're bound to piss somebody off no matter what you do
I cross that line most everyday just getting out of bed
Someone always seems to say I wish that guy was dead
Everything is sacred from somebody's point of view
